About the Translator:
Dr. NIE Yujing is a scholar in English language education and educational leadership. His rural upbringing profoundly influenced his perspective on education’s transformative potential. Dr. Nie earned his BA in English from South-Central Minzu University (1998—2002), concurrently pursuing a minor in law at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (1999—2002).
Dr. Nie’s academic career began at Nantong University in 2002, where he taught English language courses and specialized in English teacher training. His curriculum included “English Curriculum and Teaching Theory”, “English Language Teaching Approaches”, and “Sociolinguistics”, among others. He subsequently obtained an MA in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from South-Central Minzu University (2006—2009) and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from a U.S. institution (completed 2016).
From 2019 to 2024, Dr. Nie chaired the English Department at Nantong University’s School of Foreign Studies, where he spearheaded curriculum design and talent development initiatives. His leadership emphasized technological integration and innovative pedagogical methodologies. In 2024, he assumed directorship of the Foreign Language Education Research Center at Nantong University, furthering his contributions to the field.
Dr. Nie’s research interests span curriculum development, pedagogical innovation, and the synthesis of traditional and modern educational theories. He has authored several books, including Traditional Chinese Culture, A Concise Course in Legal Text Translation: English to Chinese, and AI-Assisted Research Methods in English Education: Theory and Practice. His scholarly output also includes over twenty research papers on education.
As an educator and researcher, Dr. Nie draws inspiration from prominent educational philosophers, integrating their theories into his teaching and administrative practices. His work aims to foster critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning, advancing the discourse on educational improvement and inspiring pedagogical excellence.
